Nachdem ich die Jacke ein mal geribbelt hatte, da die Maschenanzahl komplett falsch war, hat es bei mir irgendwie “klick” gemacht und ich hatte das Prinzip dahinter verstanden. Das Muster ging sehr gut von der Hand und es dauerte gar nicht so lange, da war der Hitofude vollendet.

Tja, leider war er zu groß… Nach einigen sehr informativen Diskussionen bei ravelry war dann der Grund klar: Ich hatte das falsche Maß zugrunde gelegt und daher eine Größe zu groß gestrickt. Was also nun tun? Ich entschied mich dafür, die Jacke in die Waschmaschine zu werfen und vorsichtig zu waschen in der Hoffnung, dass sie etwas einlaufen würde. Es passierte – gar nichts. die Jacke war genau so groß wie vorher. Also habe ich das Programm gewechselt. Was soll ich sagen? Das Strickstück ist perfekt geworden! – Also wenn man etwa ein Jahr alt ist.

Ich verbuche es unter “Lernerfahrung” und werde irgendwann noch mal einen Hitofude stricken – dann aber einen, der wirklich passt!

I had to frog my Hitofude cardigan once because the amount of stitches were absolutely wrong. Somehow I understood the main concept behind this pattern and I tried it again – it seemed very easy. The pattern was easy and I finished the cardigan very quickly.

Unfortunately it turned out to be too large. I discussed that issue with my flatmates on ravelry and got a lot of helpful information. It turned out that I took the wrong measurement and knitted the cardigan in the wrong size. (Plus: I didn’t swatch but I promise to change that for the next garment.) 

But what could I do now? Due to the wool it wasn’t possible to frog it again so I decided to try to machine-wash it and hoped that it would felt a bit. I chose a program esp. for wool but nothing spectacular happened. The Hitofude was still the same size. So I tried it with another program. What can I say? It fits now perfectly! Well… if you are a one year old toddler. 

I decided not to be too much annoyed about that and I promise that I learned from this whole thing. Nevertheless is it a wonderful pattern and I am going to try it again in the near future – and the cardigan is going to fit then!
